B.TIES LAUNCH NECKTIES

B.TIES Neckties

We’ve been developing and perfecting our new range of Neckties for some time now. But we’re pleased to finally to launch them to the world! These products take a little longer than their bow tie counterparts so you can be sure an extra bit of love has gone into making each one.

Like our Bow Ties, our Neckties are 100% handmade and are complete with interlining. Perfect for weddings, spring races, special gifts or everyday wear. If bow ties aren’t your thing, then our neck ties certainly will be! Choose from our ever growing range here

B.TIES & BOWIE

Bowie and B.TIES

Earlier this year, B.TIES were approached by ACMI Melbourne to collaborate on the upcoming ‘Bowie Is’ exhibition being held at ACMI Fed Square Melbourne. We were thrilled to curate some of our bow ties and create some one-of-a-kind Bowie inspired pieces to be stocked in the gift store.

Inspired by Bowie’s Goblin King, Aladdin Sane and more, B.TIES were honoured to contribute to the wonderful exhibition which ran from July through to the end of October. Thanks ACMI and thanks to all who attended. Bowie continues to inspire and will undoubtedly do so for many years to come - a true legend.

V.TIES - B.TIES VIDEOS

Melbourne B.TIES FInders Keepers

If you follow us on Instagram you may remember we were the lucky recipients of an amazing prize in early 2014, thanks to local film crew Monster & Bear.

Monster & Bear are a Melbourne-based film and production company who produce striking and playful commercials, music and brand videos. Last year Monster & Bear had a big giveaway up for grabs – a video for your brand or band, valued at $10,000! The guys at Monster & Bear are an incredibly driven and inspiringly creative team led by the three young founders and directors, Sarah Hickey, Ryan Bird and Josh Mitchell-Frey, so we were thrilled to be chosen and even more so now to be bringing the beautiful creations that came from the Monster & Bear & B.TIES mashup to the world wide web!

Sarah and the Monster & Bear team hit the ground running with us last year, and immediately we were ignited and inspired by their enthusiasm, thoroughness and vision for a thoughtful and nostalgic brand video showing the daggy little team of friends we are, behind the bows! The crew started by mood boarding and playing around with the bows themselves – raining bows and ties in the studio, playing around with stop motion and product shots – we were keen for a video that showed the diversity of our product and our gorgeous customers, but something that didn’t take itself – or us – too seriously!

Monster and Bear

Later in the year, the first of our two on-location shoots saw four of the Monster & Bear team, and the whole B.TIES team, bundle into our little apartment-cum-studio for a fun and cuddly morning chatting about how we met, fell in love with bows, each other and crackers and dip. Here, Josh and Sarah showed their skill and patience working in an unusual and squishy space to produce beautiful, heartfelt shots that captured both the familial way we work and play, and the communal process we use when producing our one-of-a-kind products.

A big afternoon in the fantastic Monster & Bear warehouse space was next, with our delightful and delicious models, Emily Macfarlane and Alex Jennings. Here again Sarah and Josh showed their skill and experience; Josh set up a grunge-glamour shot with beautiful shadowy lighting against the red brick and Sarah guided our models through endless turns and tugs and tousles with her eye for detail, forethought and fun. The whole team were welcoming, warm and willing even after a long day of three outfit changes, two location changes, set up for at least seven shots (that we novices counted!) and over 30 different bow ties! We think you’ll agree Monster & Bear's playful and passionate approach to this project shows in every clip.

Thanks Monster & Bear! Check out more of their work and follow them online.
